# Quantitative Aptitude - Linear Equation - Formula & Concept Tutorial

**Linear Equation**

It is an algebraic equation in which each term has an exponent of one and graphing of the equation result in straight line.

Standard form of linear equation is y = mx + b

Where x is variable and y, m, b are constants

Linear equation can be consistent and inconsistent.

**Consistent :- **

- x + y = 7
- x + 2y = 10

** Inconsistent :-**

- 14x + 16y = 20
- 14x + 16y = 30

Inconsistent Linear Equation do not have any solution.
