We can define types of hacker on the basis of their work and intentions.

• Black Hat Hacker – Black Hat Hacker is also known as unethical hacker or cracker because they are involved in malicious or illegal activities.

This hacker hack the system illegally to stealing money, corporate data and also violate privacy to achieve illegal goals.

• White Hat Hacker - White Hat Hacker is also known as ethical hacker or penetration tester because they use there knowledge and skills legally for defensive purpose, rather than offensive.

They are used by organisation to test the security of the system.

• Grey Hat Hacker – Grey Hat Hacker is one who work on both sides i.e ethical and malicious. It is combination of black and white hat hackers.

They will hack the system without permission of owner to test the security of the system , without damaging the system. At last they will inform owner about the vulnerabilities in the system in exchange of money or anything.
